Orioles Rained Out Monday, Play Two On Tuesday

Erik Bedard vs. Cole Hamels in the first game.

Kris Benson vs. Scott Mathieson in the second game.

I would like to see a sweep of the double header, but a split is most likely. 2 games in one day is always a treat. Great way to spend my last day before I go on vacation for 10 days.

    Sweep!

    Nice outings by Bedard, Benson.

Hey, big fan of the site. I live in Philly, so it was doubly satisfying to see the O’s take both games. There’s been heavy phenom talk up here ever since Hamels got the call (would you expect anything less? Bmore would probably be the same), but at 1-4, it’s not only clear that dude’s human, but that he’s 22. Completely normal from the perspective of an O’s fan, but seriously disappointing for Phillies boosters who have been mythologizing this guy for months.

First off, thanks for the kind words Drew. Yeah, I’m sure it was like when we brought up Hayden Penn last year. He struggled, but I think he’ll be a great pitcher for us in the long run. I think Hamels can be a very good pitcher in the future. Right now though I think he relies too much on his changeup and big league hitters can wait on that. His control seemed off today, not sure if thats the norm or what though.
